Took them long enough, and this was definitely worth the wait. South American death/thrash of the highest order.

Edit: Thought a link might be helpful.

I'm very "eh" on their new sound. it's best to stick to their old demos.

It's definitely more Morbid Angel inspired and less traditional South American death/thrash, but I think it's a natural progression of their sound. The production is quite a bit different though, i.e., more modern.

I prefer no progession in that case, especially when it comes to the old South American death sound. There are too many of these Morbid Angel inspired bands around anyway. I want more Sadism, Death Yell, and Atomic Aggressor inspired bands!!

My main gripe is that it lacks everything that made the old south American sound special.

I still hear the South American death/thrash riffs, but everything is more pronounced and taken up a notch. I get what you're saying though -- you want it more raw and primitive. To me, this album is an expansion of their second demo onward with modern production.

i thought the same thing at first, but when listening to the new songs, the riffs are still there, and that's what matters (imo). really fucking great i might add.

We invited ATOMIC AGGRESSOR to play in our city recently, the band still has the old school vibe in their riffs for sure, take a look:

Yeah i agree with Yk, it lacks of raw SA evil sound! Honestly, i prefer to listen to my old MORBID ANGEL stuff instead of that.

Sound-wise, AA have gone downhill after the "Bloody Ceremonial" demo. The bass drum started to sound clicky and annoying already in the "Resurrection" demo. It actually sounds less annoying in the new album. This album is not bad at all, but it's not amazing either.

Atomic Aggressor has ALWAYS been influened by Morbid angel, so it's no surprise that their music sounds a bit like them here and there. Compared to their 2008 demo, their music sounds even more raw!

Truly a great debut album after 30 years, haha! But now I hope that they at least could record something more in the coming 5 years...
