I fucking abhore bands that got release diaharrea, therefore I have, among other bands, tried to avoid Sabbat releases like the plack plague. But I got a couple of their albums in a trade now, and I must admit that this is very much to my liking.

On the other hand I have heard a fair amount of utter crap also,(mainly some useless live stuff), so if someone could give a quick breakdown that would be cool. I mainly want to know what releases are worth getting for the music. Not limitation and hippie colored vinyl.

Studio : Envenom, Bloody Countess, Sabbatical Rites EP compilation. Pretty much all Sabbat albums are worth having but the earliest stuff is my favourite

Live : Live 666 Japanese Harmageddon LP and the international Harm' EPs with the different Black Fire versions are pretty cool.

In my opinion all studio albums are really worth getting. My Faves are Envenom, Evoke,Disembody and Satanasword.
Most Live stuff is also worth checking out. Especially Live 666 Japanese Harmaggedon and Live Resurrection.

There is one album I never listened to , The Dwelling. I'm reading thats sort of a concept album whatever that means. Some artsy-fartsy oh so meaningful stuff or what? I can't think that on Sabbat.

Evoke is the one I can`t stop playing. Do they change styles a lot from album to album????

Basically all studio albums are esential. And at least most of them are rather easy to get (on CD) aswell.

"The Dwelling" is actually a favourite of mine. One awesome 60 min song blending together everything what Sabbat stands for. Of course a concept album, dealing with some asian occult topics if I remember correctly, and therefore fitting well with the band!

@CR99: artsy-fartsy mentioned along with Sabbat??? come on, its Sabbat not Boris Smile

Sabbatical Holocaust for the collected early 7"s is a must as well as the early studio lps: Envenom, Evoke, Disembody.
As a newbie I would advise you to avoid all the live stuff, etc. that's released in a million formats sseemingly daily.
