Crowbar has always had a more "tough guy" hardcore sound than their compatriots. But I actually really like them all. The term door guy metal is great though.

The best thing about Crowbar was when Beavis & Butthead would watch their videos.

Same. Sometimes they are fine... not good, but fine... but as soon as those chuggy, slammy, Guitar Center riffs come in and things get all nu-metally I am out. It's fucking butt metal.

Crowbar has slams? news to me.....

Crowbar are massive. Saw them twice, both were crushing, Earth-moving gigs.

Lol @ 'door guy metal', I imagine some fat dude in a greasy wifebeater sporting a mullet.

Any album in particular you guys would recommend?

Door guy metal to me summons images of Patrick Swayze roundhouse kicking someone’s face in Road House! Fuck yeah! Laughing

I really, really tried.......
But I found their music boring as fuck and the vocals are the worst of it:no power, no aggression. Their vocals got sounded too forced.
True, I have respect for them and I know that not everything has to be 1000 miles an hour speed all the time, or mega ultra uber technical and all but still.
I can imagine that they could have been heavy for their time, and I respect every band that tries something else on every album, and yet: I never understood their "magic".
I do respect warrior alot: he always admits the crap with that "Cold lake" was and yet: don't feel nothing for their music and he sounds very genuine.

I take Pentacle, Obituary, Delirium (Hol), even Usurper over CF night and day. But CF? Nah...I take Hellhammer but no CF.....

FUCK OFF!

I tried CF years and years ago. I always thought they were pretty terrible.

What do you like?

I love CF, but I never got into Into the Pandemonium. I've tried countless times, but I never really enjoyed it. The 'weird stuff' feels out of place and the 'actual songs' are just extremely watered-down To Mega Therion material.

ItP is an awesome album, but it's something entirely else than TMT and the EP's.

The only song I truly enjoy there is Inner Sanctum. I can‘t stand the „lamenting“ or „moaning“ vocal style of TGW he got so fond of back then.
