THAT band.

You know the one everyone's been babbling about, how killer it is and how mandatory and you gotta listen to it and get into it duuuude, let it "sink in" and stuff like that.

Because it was too demanding/complex/fucked-up you could never get into it.
Just because it never ever clicked although you tried repeatedly.
You tried real hard to get into it but... Nah.
Sorry but no.

Henceforth you never understood why people-your pals and others- loved the shit outta that album. Which you deemed crappy to sub-par at best.

Name the bands/albumsthat has always remained a cold impenetrable piece of music IYHO

Though I love bands like Portal, Antediluvian and such I could totally understand people who wouldnt get it.

For me 'twould be UNHOLY. Shoulda clicked. Was appealing. But nope.

Said it before and will say it again: 666 International, bought three times, sold / given away three times.

Fullmoon-United Aryan Evil

This is the first one that came to my mind. I like most of the old Temple of Fullmoon stuff, but this is just something I have never digested. I have read reviews that praise this album as "majestic barbarism" and other silly descriptions, but I just don't hear any of it.

You're not alone. The only remotely interesting thing about that demo is Darken's contributions. Otherwise extremely generic. Awful drum sound to boot.

My answer is any post - Passage Samael material. I've tried and tried and tried...it just isn't going to click with me.

No one I know seriously likes this piece of shit. They maybe bought it once and now pretend to like it.

For me, it's EMPEROR - "In the Nightside Eclipse": I listen to this once in a year or so, but it never moves me the slightest. I just keep it for the sake of the collection, but give me the split with Enslaved any day.

- Hellwitch (owned their Zsstyguzial LP twice, sold it twice)
- Blasphereion (same as above with the Rest in Peace lp)
- Profanatica/Havohej (gave the Dethrone album several chances, not gonna work)
- Clandestine Blaze (owned the first three lps, some of the most mediocre, talentless norsecore I've ever heard)

Also,
I really REALLY tried but I could ne'er get into...THAT poster

- asmael LeBouc (tryhard, redundant and French)
- Werewolf (useless)

+1.

I've never enjoyed a single Ledney project.

For the 3 I spent on "Above" I probably should have bought some falafel.

Pentagram's "Last Rites" was bad.

Cephalic Carnage playing melodic death metal sucks as well.

I suppose the new Ulver (post bm era) falls to this category as well. One of the recent albums had a very good song but turns out it was a Black Sabbath cover. So yeah Black Sabbath too for me, just tried some of the early albums again recently to no avail.

Oh yeah, this one even more than Fullmoon. I enjoy the first Emperor EP and Wrath of the Tyrant but this one never moved me the slightest. "Come on man, it's a fucking classic!" - trust me, I really tried. I still try now and then.

Thirded on newer DSO and Havohej/Profanatica.

Necros Christos: bores me to death, I keep hearing about the atmosphere this band supposedly brings but sorry, bands like Anatomia etc shit all over them.
