i saw nidingr. teloch is advanced enough that i'm pretty sure his compositional approach will have the vibe of post-DMDS mayhem. i think he can come up with some stuff on par with blashphemer, but it will be different.

so, you know, if you're one of the blowhards here that has to repeat "mayhem should have ended after euronymous died" like a broken fuckin' record, just spare us who are actually interested in the topic your dumb opinions and go listen to goatofago or whatever.

Well, I think he'd be an ok guitarist for the dissonant kind of approach Mayhem were aiming with Ordo, at least when it comes to the guitar tracks cos everything else about the album sounds way murky and that's what makes it different I guess. I wouldn't say my expectations are really high, but I do expect something decent.

DMDS is an undisputed classic of the genre. I also really enjoyed Chimera (sans the drum sound) and Ordo as well. Looking forward to this.

A new mastering job is exactly what Ordo Ad Chao doesn't need.

I'm greatly looking forward to a new Mayhem album, and am probably among the few who enjoy all of their output (it did, however, take me a while to get my head around Grand Declaration of War). DMDS is my favorite black metal album and I was extremely glad when Attila rejoined the band. In my opinion, he epitomizes to what a black metal vocalist should aspire - pure ugliness and rancid horror.
