The guy is asking for advice about the bands figuring in his list, not for obscure thrash name dropping... |

Protector was on my short list after hearing samples. Picking it up next weekend along with Dark Angel - Leave Scars, Death Angel - The Ultra Violence, Exciter - The Dark Command, Grave Digger - Heavy Metal Breakdown, Slayer - Show No Mercy
$20 for Protector and $110 total. All first press and all at least EX or better.
Trying to buy up his more well known stuff before I really dig into the more obscure stuff I posted.
Already grabbed Whiplash - Power and Pain, Deathrow - Riders of Doom, Blood Feast - Kill For Pleasure, Coroner - Punishment For Decadence, Destruction - Infernal Overkill, Sentence of Death and Eternal Devastation, Onslaught - Power From Hell, Hallows Eve - Tales of Terror, Sepultura - Schizophrenia and Nasty Savage - S/T. Plus a few non Thrash albums too. _________________ "Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair or fucking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. the things you bought are no mistakes! you bought "deathrow-riders of doom" and you listed "deathrow-deception ignored", and i must tell you that "DI" is a shitty record of them (maybe a grab for supporters of progressive stuff, for me it's really bad thrash...). when you see "Raging Steel" of them, buy it! |

Get the two Hydra Vein albums if he still has them. The first one is just awesome straight-ahead thrash, the second is a pretty good blend of thrash and death metal, done British style, sort of along the lines of Cerebral Fix. |

Anacrusis - Suffering Hour
Dr. Know - Wreckage in Flesh (more crossover I'd say, but ok)
Living Death - Protected From Reality !
Meliah Rage - Kill To Survive
Pariah - Blaze of Obscurity
Protector - Misanthropy !
Sacrilege - Within The Prophecy !
Living Death and Protector play wicked german thrash, get those for sure. |

For the most part these all are pretty decent picks, and the anacrusis. Also depends on your preference in thrash. For me Angel Dust's first album, the Sacrilege, Protector, Meliah Rage, and Heretic would be essential picks, but if you're into more technical, proggy, or 88-90 thrash period then anacrusis, num skull, mekong delta are all things worth picking up too.
Not to mention if you've got the time to check the thread chances are these aren't going to go away quickly? Can sample some of the more obscure through youtube and see if they fit your preference. |
