I think a Funeral Doom band that needs a lot more recognition is Вой from the USSR.
They were way ahead of their time and released a demo in 1989 and a full length in 1991, the LP was rereleased in 2012 but was limited to 100 copies and is sold out. Sad

Such a fantastic band. They captured a truly Lovecraftian atmosphere too. Strange geometry and total ruin...

Sounds good. Russian funeral doom has some great gems.
Vo Skorbya, Comatose Vigil, Septic Mind, Mare Infinitum and then some...

Did you not notice the word "Lovecraftian" there? Seems to me the concept of "strange geometry" fits perfectly well. Or are you Cyclopean in your obtuseness?

Joking aside, Thergothon is one of those bands that I have somehow, against all logic and reason, never heard. I believe I will correct that this evening.
