I hope that Moonblood isn't being discussed to death these days, but like many others on here I'm really enjoying the box set put out by Iron Bonehead recently.

Now it has already been mentioned on here that an official rerelease of "Blut & Krieg" is not going to happen, because Gaamalzagoth doesn't like this album.

However I was just checking out some of their songs from "Siegfried (Die Sage vom Helden)" again and I must say that I really like this release.
There is a vinyl bootleg of it from South America floating around these days which, of course, sells for ridiculous prices.

So now I was wondering if there is any chance of "Siegfried" getting a proper and official rerelease? I think this demo would definitely deserve it.

I wish he'd get on crack, give up and finally release a 30LP boxset of all rehearsals and stuff to fund his habit, after all Laughing

The contents of the current box are kinda puzzling. A bunch of randomly picked rehearsal tracks as a bonus but no 1997 studio session? (Katharsis and DSO split stuff) Makes no sense.

Very Happy kind of true, I'm not crazy for Moonblood, but I simply fail to understand his attitude, within the last year the Blut & Krieg LP has been bootlegged twice (the picture disc version and the 2LP that was sold by HHB). Both of those bootlegs have sold out as far as I can tell.
I mean of course you like some your own recordings better than others, but obviously many people would be interested in getting a hold of an official copy.

Wouldn't it be some shit if it turned out the Moonblood guys have been behind these bootlegs, in one way or another, all along? Laughing

If I remember correctly, in the boxset booklet Gamaalzagoth talks about how Siegfried didn't fit the lyrical/musical styling of Moonblood and thus was purposely uber limited. So one can assume it probably falls into the same category of B&K in that it probably won't see a rerelease... but that's just my interpretation of it, so...

If something deserves a proper release, it's the Horned Furies by Azaxul...

There is a third bootleg that preceded these two. Nearly identical to original (and was being sold as original by many a Greek ebayer) only difference being handwritten matrix vs machine stamped, and the labels themselves being stickers rather than printed.

This is what I thought to be most likely when I read that he felt it sounded differently and that it wouldn't fit the rest of Moonblood's releases.
Yet why not just let a nice label like iron bonehead release a good part of their discography when bootlegs keep on popping up like crazy (3 a year of the same album).
I don't want to complain though, because the boxset is a great release and came unexpected for most Smile

Actually none of those rehearsals belong to the bands official discography that was listed in the boxset's booklet. Can't see a reason why they would reissue any of them.

Because there are a lot of unreleased tracks on these rehearsals thar are amazing, way better than some official stuff actually.
