I prefer to listen to their music non-live, but if anyone going to any of their gigs, please post your comments. Thanks!

Amazing gig in Berlin last night, they get closer to perfection each time I see them.
The set was almost 2 hours long I think, can post the setlist, if someone is interested.

For the vinyl lovers: They have a re-release of Pale Folklore on white wax, which gets sold to the public just after the tour, last copies of the european edition of Whitedivisiongrey from the last tour and the Faustian Echoes EP.

I was there too and I have too agree. Agalloch did a really intense and amazing performance.

Do me a favour and recommend me some really good Agalloch's material. I remember hearing some song which was... well, GAY.

And next month they are playing a few kilometres from my house so I guess I should give them another chance.

I always had similar thoughts but Marrow of the Spirit and Faustian Echoes changed my mind. I'm in the minority though, most people prefer older albums. You may just not like them.

Very good live band too.

I think the music is really atmospheric and beautiful but I know what you mean. Here are some of favourite songs:

What are the setlists like? I'd hope a bit off Marrow got played, thats my favourite album now, Ashes Against the grain, but lately Marrow has over taken it.

Wish they'd come to Australia, i actually reckon they would get a decent turnout.

2 plus hours is entirely too long for such a boring band to play live.

This is what the setlist looked like for the Seattle date before they hit their European tour. They played for over 2 hours.

Limbs
Ghosts of the Midwinter Fires
Falling Snow
Faustian Echoes
The Melancholy Spirit
You Were But A Ghost In My Arms
In The Shadow Of Our Pale Companion
Kneel To The Cross (Sol Invictus cover)
Of Stone, Wind and Pillor
Our Fortress Is Burning... I
Our Fortress Is Burning... II - Bloodbirds

Now anybody want to be a pal and grab a copy of that WhiteDivisionGrey lp for me??

That looks really similar (possibly identical, working from memory here) to the summer 2012 US tour setlist. They were great on that tour and I'm sure they're awesome on this tour. Hopefully they'll do the States again soon.

As for the discussion about which Agalloch record is best, I celebrate their entire discography. Not a single bad release. I'm most likely to listen to The Mantle or Ashes Against the Grain, though. Marrow of the Spirit is deservedly getting a lot of praise here, and it was a near-perfect return to black metal for the band, but The Mantle and Ashes better capture what makes Agalloch unique.

Setlist for Berlin:

Limbs
Ghosts Of The Midwinter Fires
Hallways Of Enchanted Ebony
Faustian Echoes
The Melancholy Spirit
You Were But A Ghost In My Arms
Dead Winter Days
In The Shadow Of Our Pale Companion
Kneel To The Cross
Our Fortress Is Burning I
Our Fortress Is Burning II - Blloodbirds

It's written "Setlist A" on the paper, so the one posted before with Falling Snow instead of Hallways and Of Stone... instead of Dead Winter Days should probably be "Setlist B" for the tour.

I can understand people from this forum, when Agalloch sounds too boring for them. But in comparison to all this new Post BM like Alcest, Lantlos etc. they manage to create a magnificent atmosphere without sounding gay imo. Of course you shouldn't expect 2 hours of hate and violence.
