FYI:

info@displeasedrecords.com

Two great Deathrow re-issues:

A prototypical example of '80s Teutonic Thrash Metal, Deathrow followed in the footsteps of countrymen like Destruction, Sodom, and Iron Angel, only with far more modest commercial results. Hailing from the city of Düsseldorf, Germany, Deathrow was founded in 1984 by vocalist/bassist Milo, guitarists Thomas Priebe and Sven Flugge, and drummer Markus Hahn. They would soon sign with Noise Records and almost instantly meet with some welcome, press-generating controversy when their first album, Satan's gift, had to be renamed Riders of doom in order to avoid censure by the easily offended American market. European touring with Possessed and Voivod followed, as did another thrashing opus named Raging steel, in 1987; but with the arrival of former Mekong Delta guitarist Uwe Osterlehner to replace Priebe, the band shifted toward a more intricate, progressive metal style for their third and fourth releases, Deception ignored (1988) and Life beyond (1992). Over the years both Satan’s gift and Raging steel have become True Cult Thrashing Metal Classics, and the demand for decent CD versions have grown to epic proportions. Therefore these reissues (featuring killer demo bonus material) will be excellent news for many, especially in this day and age of Thrash Metal rivival! Approved by: Martin van Drunen (Asphyx, Hail of Bullets, ex-Pestilence): “These two classic albums are about the best German old school Thrash has too offer. Deathrow were pioneers and far ahead of their time. Every self-respecting Thrasher should have these in his collection. Thrash or be Thrashed!”

Good that they're including the demos. I've never heard those before.

The demos are even superior to the first record, also with a great soudn already. Awesome German Thrash. I hav one of these Samhain demos and a live concert before they changed name and I like it more than the debut LP of them.

I worship these 2 records. German speed/thrash, the best a man can get. Also still looking for that Satan's Gift version.
