Splattered - 80's horror anthology from Northstar Publications. Pretty fucking sick stories and excellent art. Was controversial back in the day due to a tale involving the rape of a runaway slave who gets skinned by the slave owner so he can make new boots.

EO - A weird sci-fi about some drug/aphrodisiac that turns people insane. Along the lines of Crossed. HEAVY on the sex and violence. Beautiful art by Tim Vigil.

Faust - Speaking of Tim Vigil...

Gore Shriek - More hokey Tales from the Crypt type anthology. Good for gore, not so much sex.

As far as manga goes Berzerk, Battle Royale and Gantz are all supremely fucked and heavy on the sex and violence. If you thought Uzumaki was good then the aforementioned mangas will make you poop your pants.

I just blindly ordered a new Image title called Sex. Anybody check that out?

After seeing the thread, was going to mention a few titles that I have been beaten to the punch on - Dead World, Gore Shriek, etc. Nothing ground-breaking however but they are alright.

Never really come across a 'horror' comic that lives up to expectations (unless those expectations are of an EC kinda vibe) but if you want unsettling try Black Hole by Charles Burns. Schizo by Ivan Brunetti is 'horrific' but in a completely different way Very Happy

Oh, and there's also those old short horror/shocking stories by Bruce Jones that are fucking awesome.
Just check these two:

They certainly don't do them like that anymore

Violence + art = BLADE OF THE IMMORTAL

Moreover the characters are very charismatic and original. This manga is a gem. Hiroaki Samura has some wonderful twisted ideas sometimes...

How can you beat that?

Im reading this actually (#23 now) but they're badly printed and translated local edition, so i cant be certain with the drawing quality. Someone recommended me this when i asked for something in the vein of "Lone Wolf & Cub" (which is to me, the best manga ever produced). I was pretty disappointed with the 1st few issues because the drawings were kinda sloppy for my taste.. again this could be due to bad printing.. the storyline is good though.

For violence+ humor, check out Lobo and Johnny the homicidal maniac

Battle royale too, sans the humor, plus it can be quite disturbing.

ZOMBIES+SATAN+WESTERN= PRIEST.

Love the drawing too, raw and brutal, perfect.

Concerning BLADE OF THE IMMORTAL, itīs much more artistic than Lone Wolf... Which is great and very realistic, but the art is much simpler, less powerful. BLADE... has been rewarded for its fine Art... Try the American version on Dark Horse Comics, they did a killer job.

KEN is awesome too but not as beautiful as BLADE and the plot less complex

Fukitor Comix - Almost forgot about this. EC style horror and war comics created by Jake Karns. Tons of sex and violence, lots of sick, infantile humor. I highly recommend. http://fukitor.blogspot.com/2012/11/fukitor-8-is-available-to-order.html?m=0

His new prices are a little silly for what you get, but I've never regretted buying an issue.

Are the new versions of the Eerie and Creepy comics any good?

Not sure if Danzig's comic company still is operational or not, or if that Satanika movie ever manifested.

Heavy Metal Illustrated is about my only comic reading now, lest the Star Wars comics I buy for my son count. Wink

Yes, the Death Dealer comics are great and much better than the shitty version image put out which is, quite frankly, a fucking disgrace and not representational of this fantastic character! The Satanika animation was never made to the best of my knowledge although the trailer is up on youtube.

Verotik still exists. I got the recent Jaguar God story with illustrations by the Biz but this is text and art ala the Drukija book put out a while back. Not read it yet but I'm sure it'll be a good yarn.

Other suggestions are Howard Chaykin's Black Kiss 1 and 2 (the latter being a prequel with lashings of gore, sex, transgender demonic entities and even a little beastiality thrown in for good measure!) and Mark Millar's Nemesis which is total nihilism and destruction. Fantastic! John Hicklenton's 100 Months is a stroke of genius and should be read by everyone.

Matt Wagner's Grendel cycle gets my vote as the best as far as a combination between beautiful artwork and really quite disturbing themes.

Second and third place go to:

(HELLBOY)
and

(The INVISIBLES)

Honorable mentions to the sole 2 issues of "the biologic show"

"The spider garden/Metal web"

Guido Crespax's work

and the latest Alan Moore
