Love 'em. It's a shame what they became. King of the Distant Forest is one of my favorite viking albums. Catchy as fuck while still retaining some balls.

In the sing of the ravens and King of the distant forest are awesome, reference albums of viking metal. Melodic, epic ,agressive...you said it all.

In my opinion, together with mighty MENHIR,the two best viking metal bands after BATHORY.

How do you mean, what they became? The Kings Of Asgard album is great as well. Though definately more modern in production, it has a couple of amazing typical Mithotyn-melodies here and there, just great. They were opening for us as well a couple of months ago, really good live as well.

On related note, will have that new Mithotyn discography 3CD box in stock next week!

King of the Distant Forest with bonus tracks is a great CD. The other two albums are just OK, they don't really excite me too much.

I love this band. "Gathered Around the Oaken Table" is one of my favorite albums, I listen to it frequently.

I didn't know the albums had been re-released as a 3CD. They should do a demo collection too, I'd buy one right away.

Me too!!! One of my fave bands ever, since their demo 1994 "Nidhogg", in fact I was in touch with them at that times!

Falconer

Pretty sure it was only the drummer and guitarist who went on to form Falconer, never thought of them as an evolution of Mithotyn. Both bands are great though. Probably my favorite viking metal band alongside Bathory.

"In the Sign of the Ravens" was one of the albums I liked when was exploring modern Viking Metal a bit in early days for general curiosity reasons. Embarassed Was utterly pop-sounding even those days, but still decent unlike tremendous melodeath garbage they turned later. I may only suppose that their demos are times greater than debut. Still, best VM stuff ever existed are "Yggdrasil" by Enslaved and "Jormundgand" by Helheim...
