The idea for this thread came from the Voivod poll.

I've been into Metal for a little over 15 years now, but I've never listened to a Voivod album, and not because I didn't want to or anything like that, it's just that somehow I've never had a chance to or even completely forget about checking them out. Yeah, I may get some shit for being so "false" or whatever, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who has commited the "sin" of not knowing a super kvlt and well known Metal band, am I?

Ive never listened to these even though they seem to be a big deal;

Niffleheim
Morbid

and the one that really seems to bother people, Ive never given Mayhem - "De Mysteriis..." a good listen.

i wont dare say any of these are not good or interesting or worth the time, I just haven't gotten around to it and I already know about plenty of bands I already like. Cool

I think you're going to get a lot of the same answers people gave in the "bands you never gave a shit about" thread.

Anyway, I guess I'd say most thrash in general. I'm not a fan of the genre as a whole, but I really like certain bands/albums. I probably haven't heard a lot of stuff that's considered classic, just because I don't listen to the genre much.

There's too much music out there to hear it all. You're always going to miss some stuff. Nothing wrong with that, although I gotta say, I don't take people seriously who say things like "I love black metal" followed by "I've never really listened to Bathory". That just seems really asinine.

I personally don't like Voivod... but the cover ORDER FROM CHAOS does of War and Pain is cool.

I just checked out Possessed for the first time ever a few months ago after being into metal for like 8 years hah.... Damn idk why I waited so long that album kills

Well at least you know that its a kvlt album and fan favorite .. I was chatting at a show with some local kid awhile back who said he hated this album (but loved their newer shit ) and was baffled as fuck when I flipped out .. was like 'whaaaat people actually like that album???' .. I had to walk away .. how the fuck can you not know that??? I guess he was young.

Always thought that was pretty obvious. It's French; means cults of the ghouls.

I don't know if there are any legendary bands I've NEVER listened to, at this point, but there are still some that reject my attempts to enjoy them, and I will probably never make it through a whole album. Emperor is one, but that style of black metal is just not my thing.

I've never checked out Axis of Advance. I guess I just got lost listening to just about every other "war metal" band, especially ones with Read in them, but for some reason never checked out Axis.

Imma listen to 'em right now.

Death SS/Paul Chain.

I've seen those names around for the last 20 years but have never actually heard them. I'm guessing I probably should.

I can relate to this. I love some Sadus, Morbid Saint, Sodom or Dark Angel every once in a while, but Thrash in general never really caught my interest completely.
