It's propably better if you print them the receipt from the webshop.

I don't think I've never received any documents inside the package from NWN. Customs (at least in here) have always accepted receipt prints or paypal prints to proof the values.

Although this will not really help you regarding the question wether there are documents included or not, in some of my cases where I traded with people from the US (or other overseas locations)
the German customs started to google for the CDs/LPs in question and tried to estimate their value. They also checked the senders address if it was a mailorder and tried to find out the real value through the webshop.

Of course this always depends on the people working at your customs office, but at least for me they´ve made trading and ordering from overseas such a hassle,
that I stopped it for larger orders/trades. The fees were just getting too much.

So in the end, it might be irrelevant if documents are included or not. If it is a large parcel with lots of content, they will make sure to make money out of it.

But beware! I had one guy at the local custom office, who browsed to the NWN website and checked prices in the store for comparison against the printout. People who buy 5 CDs a year for 15 Euros don't trust a receipt with $5 CDs.

Let's hope that the guys at customs don't find this thread then, or Biervampir will be in a lot of trouble...

Recently, I received 3 records from China and the Portuguese customs didn't believe that I was giving them the real value of the records. Long story short: I sent them a Paypal receipt, but the sender wrote "Gift" on the parcel. Customs didn't know if I bought the records or not.
I had to sign a "honour certificate form" stating that the records weren't for sale in Portugal and were only for personal use. If I lied, I could get arrested for 3 years. Of course, I'm not familiar with German law concerning these matters, but I wouldn't post on the internet that I intend to send fake information to customs...

Damn, your VAT police are brutal. I'm so thankful that we don't need to deal with that in the USA unless it's a preposterous amount of money.

For curiosity, what happened when they found out that? Confiscated the records? Goat a fine? Further problems?

I have been to German customs that opened the packaged and checked the values in the internet. In that time my invoice was right.

But, I have also been there without them opening the package or checking further the prices.

Remember that Europe has a LOT more social services than in the US. There is a reason why they get taxed heavily.

Usually the records will get confiscated in such cases, yes.
The further procedure depends on the reason why the record is banned in Germany. Many banned records in Germany are banned for dealing with right-wing topics or show banned symbols. In that cases you could be indicted for "Volksverhetzung"
