First 4 Ozzy albums are mandatory and should be in this thread ! And they are in the same muscial vein... and almost same quality since they are ugly fillers on Diary (album written too fast between tour, really an unfinished album, made to sell quick and t ocash after the success of Blizzard) and some gay ballads on Blizzard.
Also, Randy Rhoads wanted to leave the band right after the tour for Diary. Just listen to the Jake E Lee's albums, they are underestimated as hell... |

I don't like the ballads either.
I have to check jake lee band for sure.What is he playing?Heavy rock,glam metal,hard rock?Or like the two Ozzy albums?I wish to be the last one.. |

My favorite Ozzy songs are "Over the Mountain" and "Diary of A Madman", so I had to go with Diary. But the first two are both essential.
Randy Rhoads was just phenomenal...loved his sound and style. My favorite guitarist, after Hendrix.
Bark At the Moon was OK...a couple of killer songs, but a lot of filler. And "So Tired" is so awful that it actually makes "Goodbye To Romance" sound good.
The Ultimate Sin is great...can't compare to the first two, but much better than Bark.
After that, I don't like any of the Ozzy stuff.

Diary Of A Madman, especially the title track. What a grand song. Don't listen to the old albums much anymore though. Hard to imagine that a subpar vocalist like Osbourne always managed to surround himself with rather good musicians.

| the song "Diary of the Madmen" is easily my favorite solo Ozzy song, so that album gets my vote. |

Diary for me. I love all Ozzy's records though, I even have a soft spot for for some of the tracks on Ozzmosis .
Ultimate Sin would probably come second, the Jake E Lee stuff is incredible as well. |
