This cd would have been great if not for those goddamn annoying female vocals. I really like the songs, riffs, keyboard touches, the asthmatic sounding vocals, etc. but once the female vocals enter the picture, they ruin everything.
Anyway, is this band still going? or is Mike Browning doing anything at all these days?
Morbid Angel's Abominations of Desolation, the Incubus demo and the first two Nocturnus albums are some of my favorite death metal albums (or demos in the case of Incubus and MA) of all times, and the After Death stuff was pretty good as well, aside from what's stated above. This guy has talent and so far every band he's been part of that I've listened to, has been from pretty good to bow down excellent. |

Nobody? really? Nobody knows who Mike Browning is?
The After Death cd was released by Iron Pegasus, so even nowadays 'kvlt' kids should know about it. |

Of course I know who Mike Browning is. I just really didn't have anything to add to the thread other than, "YA BUD HE'S GOOD!"
I enjoyed Retronomicon quite a bit. His work in Morbid Angel and Nocturnus is out-fucking-standing as well. Haven't heard anything about After Death since the 2009 promo thing, I'd imagine they're still around though. _________________

Finally scored an LP copy of "The Key" this week. Sounds like I need to check out After Death as well. _________________ www.contagionreleasing.com

Looking forward to that split CD.
Does anyone know if the After Death tracks on that will be the four new ones posted on their MySpace or something else? |

the female vocals are a bit annoying for sure but this CD is one of the best record to happen these last years. The most recent tracks were the best IMO, so the news of a news release is great news !
What's great with this record is that one can hear all what made early NOCTURNUS great (even if Thresholds was great too), these riffs, the drumming, the voice, but in another form. _________________ Scrutare et vide quia propheta a Galilaea non surgit! |

I am SO EXCITED for that split. I'm glad that Cthulhu/Leviathan art is being used on something so great. _________________

| After Death is mediocre with or without the female vocals. Very boring compilation. |
