Being influenced by is different thing than sounding a like. _________________

Rrroooaaarrr for me. Rabid, hysterical thrash assault and one of the most violent albums ever recorded. I admit I never checked out the post-Angel Rat albums, shame on me. _________________ Thread derailed

Interested in trading a dub of Apokalypsimz for a dub of Purpurearagotamiceps?

Not missing all that much tbh. Though the new album is very good, so if you ever get a chance, pick it up. _________________

| Go count the thrash riffs in early Voivod and you'll have next to nothing. Combining punk and metal does not automatically equal thrash guys. |

Voivod is not thrash. Their first two albums, surely, but in general terms you can't call em 'thrash'. They're a whole category on their own, if I'd have to call em somewhat the vague definition would be.. probably 'metal'. _________________ Sic transit gloria mundi |

Nothingface or Angel Rat. Though like NK7, I also have not checked out anything post '91.
I think those two albums really achieve a great expansive feeling that no other band has done for me. Nothingface never came across to me as cold and sci-fi, but inspiring, bright, and dreamy...same with Angel Rat.
Been diving into their older stuff and love it too, for the record. |

Not sure about that either, based on how they play their instruments I can hardly call them a 'metal band'. _________________ Sic transit gloria mundi |

| I equally love the first 3 records but I listen Killing Technology the most so voted for that one. The new one seems promising and I liked Infini as well. Never heard the rest. |

I'm boring.
Went with War and Pain.
Killing Technology, Dimension Hatröss, The Outer Limits, Nothingface and Rrroooaaarrr are all good too. _________________

really, on any given day depending on my mood my fav could be any of their first 6 albums...yes including Angel Rat, I love that thing to death, Voivod is truly the very definition of a Progressive Metal band, even the rest of the albums throughout the 90s have their merits, although they kind of lost me with their 3 albums from the 2000s, but they really surprised me with Target Earth(Piggy RIP) and are really back on track
also when I get in the mood for mid-period Voivod I can't help by also pull out my Die Kreuzen albums esp. October File and Century Days... |

| Blacky calls it Angelfart. Great album though I could live without Clouds in my House. |

| I enjoy every album except the self-titled one and "Kronik" (but that's hardly an album...). One of my favourite bands. Can't choose one album because I have multiple favourites. But thumbs up for the Eric Forrest-albums. "Phobos" is one creepy fucker!! Sooooo underrated! |
