I guess both... at first place it is recording studio with particular engineers, but.... but if you look deeper, i guess those bands had pretty some things in common(it is logical cause all of them was from same country, playing more or less same music style, and was around during same years) beside production... i guess same if you speak about swedish Sunlight |

I resuse to believe you don't like classic Malevolent Creation, Deicide, Napalm Death, Atheist etc

Compare 2nd tier norwegian black metal like Taake and 2nd tier morrisound like Resurrection's Embalmed Existence, the latter is immensely better. Only Xasthur fans will disagree.

Taake was kinda later band that made debut album in 99...
and hmmm.. who is Xasthur? hahhahaha... just kidding i know it is USBM band but i heard only one song ages ago, and i guess i didnt liked it  |

Great, hard, pissed and CLEAR DM vocals.
Great, memorable riffs.
Mosh parts/breakdowns a-plenty.
Non-overproduced/non-underproduced sound.
Every song is solid.
MC should have done a 20th anniv tour for this record in 2012 where they did it front to back...oh well!

Hell-fucking-yes. That album is a monster, Malevolent Creation is an amazing band and they'd deserve more credit.

There is nothing "new" left in DM and that is ok.
But if a newer band decides to try a different style then the INCAN rip off that is beyond done at this point - it can sound very NEW indeed! HA!

Solstice's debut is one of the top Morrisound albums imo, but is a bit overlooked. If you like MC Retribution, you will love it. Other standouts are Altars and Monstrosity's debut. The latter was done at Morrisound, but not by Burns. Burns also did Beneath the Remains, though it was recorded elsewhere (obviously, this is the greatest LP ever  ).
