I own the originals, but would like to know if the remasters are worth getting. I'm especially interested in the one for Them which was the weakest sounding of the early albums. Opinions?

They're mostly fine, though I still don't like the sound on Them. But even as a huge KD fan that album never sat well with me. I think the four most recent remasters of Spider's Lullabye, Voodoo, The Graveyard, and House of God were unnecessary though. Too hot for me.

I had both Fatal Portrait and sold it, it's professionally done all all but I see no reason to purchase it if one already owns the original.

Well, Abigail and Fatal Portrait are worth getting for the B-sides. Shine and The Lake are awesome. If you're not into those songs or the demos in the other CDs, you can stick with the originals.

Yeah, this is great - I have the LPs but this is a fine addition as is the Melissa one. If they did Don't Break The Oath I'd grab that up too.....

This is definitely the case. "Shrine" and "The Lake" are the King's finest songs, IMO, but pretty much everything on those albums (up to and including "The Eye") is outstanding.

The seven horsemen disappeared into the night...

Disagree about "Shrine", I thought it was a pretty boring and forgettable track and it kinda ruins the ending of the story. "The Lake" is great though, shouldn't have ever been left out.

"Shrine" is definitive a mediocre song and wasn't on my original CD, luckily.

"The Lake" on the other hand is an outstanding song and was on my original CD, luckily.

I had both songs also on "The Dark Sides", but I sold this one as I don't like to watch KD's nicotine-yellowed teeth in close-up.

Both the Lake and Shrine are great tracks but the Lake is leagues beyond I think.

Not directly related, but I'd love to see a KD US tour (or MF for that matter but that's not happening). Been too long after the health issues and what not but he seems to be only booking festivals in Europe currently.

I have only to say that the "Spider's Lullaby" remaster edition is abolutelly crap! Nothing about the very good original album, sound is different and totally ruined!
