Hmmm a bit suprised with poster.. i mean usually bigger bands written with bigger letter, and smaller with smaller.. and in case of this poster it looks kinda "surprising", thought timetable looks more logical/normal..
I mean i cannot consider me expert about who is "bigger" and who is "smaller" bands, plus such things depends on place, and of couse all we get mistaken. but it is kinda shocking to see written with bigger font Akitsa and Wrathprayer.. and with mid sized font Abigail, Absu, Benedictions, Cruciamentum, Rotten Sound, Vassafor.
But at other hand cannot complain that Wrathprayer getting such status lift |

this fest is all different venues. Absu is headlining their show. Wrathprayer is opening for Tragedy/Bolt Thrower... so yeah. The size of the fonts doesnt mean a lot. |

That's kinda how it is. You have to weigh it against the bands you want to see. _________________

| I can totally relate to what "death in bodies" is saying here. I always try and weigh how much I want to see a band with what sort of audience it draws. I can't stand being around PC morons, punks, or people who don't shower, so clearly I wouldn't fare well standing around this fest for a few days. |

I stayed at La Quinta Capitol which was a few kms from the venues but not too far really. Enough beer and you'll barely notice the walk. The most important features they had was a pool and very good aircon!! But it was a decent hotel with no problems at all. Not sure if they are quite "cheap" but it was fine by me

The "no crusties" wimpiness in thread isn't really warranted as most of the shows I went to were the metal ones and they had just the usual metalheads. I think I saw more crusties at MDF that year than CiT.
I thought it was a great festival and was well run. My main piece of advice is to get your entry stamps early as the queues can be a little tedious and I missed at least one band while waiting for will call _________________

Also I went last year... we just kept the fort held down back at the hotel with OPERATION BEERCANS EVERYWHERE then later at night would taxi out to the shows. Most cru$ties are just into the look and not the whole unshowering thing so the smell wasn't too bad.
Plus man up, Texas isn't that bad. It's a nice pre cursor to hell. _________________ Devour the rotten flesh

I live right outside Austin so I have no reason not to attend Chaos every year haha. Already have my 4-day pass and a hotel booked with friends. Come get drunk with us at all the metal shows and Mobb Deep. _________________

Not too sure this year but last year we were at the Super 8 by the greyhound bus stop near the highway or something (only been to Austin once) _________________ Devour the rotten flesh
