I just got a package from Hell's Headbangers and one of the items was the Communion (Chile) demo. The photocopied cover and stickers on a blank tape made me wonder immediately - sure enough I find out that it should be a pro tape and cover.
Cheers HHR! Bootlegging recent releases is lame, whether it was them that did it or not. |

| first pressing of pro tape and cover could have sold out so they printed up more cheaper covers and blank tapes to meet demand. Is it that big of a deal though since it still has the music? |

Obviously it is, as 95% of topics are about new releases, their format, and what's included. It's clearly not just the music. |

I got mine in a trade, but I do not remember from whom. I have never even listened to it.

you should listen to it. Its one of my favorite demos that i have. I got mine from a guy in spain but due to it being the same tan cover id assume its not a bootleg

Mine is on a blank white cassette, cover is the same...
A wider debate should concern the following.
A. How would HH know what was a bootleg tape and what wasn't? Did they download the official PDF style guide of underground tapes?
B. If they did receive these tapes as a trade or whatever are they supposed to bin them because someone else bootlegged them?
C. The answer to B is only possible if they had applied A in the first place...

I'm pretty sure they just got a CDR master and a few covers. That is pretty usual these days.

But it's way cooler to open a thread about a blank tape on the forum than asking HHR themselves about it or even asking the Proselytism dude who plays in the band about it. |

1st Edition - Lightcoloured paper with pro tape (as the picture above)
2nd Edition - White paper with xerox print, blank tape
None of the Communion members have used STICKERS on their tapes. |

Hey don't worry it's not keeping me awake at night! And yeah it is mainly about the music but when you pay someone for something you'd kind of prefer to get the real thing. I'd email HHR but I have a feeling they either wouldn't know if the tape was legit or more likely not bother answering my question.
Mine has cut-out photocopied "stickers" stuck to the tape so maybe it is a boot if the previous post is true.
Anyway, good demo. I also have a photocopied Von demo that I got in Japan for a laugh and to wind up a mate. |
