Was listening to Trouble and Early Vitus, and was wondering if there are any trad doom albums that have up tempo moments instead of just slower riffs throughout an album. Anyone here have any good recommendations?

Reverend Bizarre - II: Crush the Insects.
Faster songs and songs that speed up at some point, what is kinda typical for them. The album has only few tracks that do not have any faster parts.

If you don't know them already check out Angelwitch's first album. They are more of a Sabbath meets NWOBHM band with more uptempo stuff, but enough doom in it that a lot of songs have the vibe you are talking about. Also the lesser known NWOBHM band Legend might fit the bill.

Some doom bands with varied tempos that come to mind are Pale Divine, Pagan Altar and The Gates of Slumber. Some specific songs to check out:

Pagan Altar - Cry of the Banshee

The Gates of Slumber - Children of Satan
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ad62aodFKRU

Pale Divine - Nocturne Dementia (can't find a youtube link, sorry)

On a side note, one of my favorite up tempo doom cuts is Pentagram - Live Free and Burn

perhaps the best metal album to come out of Denmark since MF/KD

Perhaps too obvious, but a worthy mention nonetheless: Cathedral - Soul Sacrifice

Or it could be put that "doom" isn't a synonym for slow tempo. Like you put, all the great doom metal bands had faster songs or parts.

Pentagram - Day of Reckoning. Their best album in my opinion. Incredible song writing, great dynamics, varied uptempo rhythms and one of the best doom productions. One of Bobby's finest vocal performances too. He sounded way too drugged up and off-key on later releases.
