I don't hear anything wrong in that one. I actually quite like it. |

Them has a pretty "muddy" drum sound. Listen to all the KD albums directly around it and compare it to the sound on Them; there are some striking differences in quality. Great album regardless. _________________ Listen to Countess. |

Those two come to mind. The drum sound simply ruined those records.

I like both of those. They have personality, not in a bad way.
Agreed on INRI and Reflections of the Solstice though. Those are two obvious classics that I can't bear to own or listen to, the drums sound so awful. I'd rather listen to Rotting or The Laws of Scourge than INRI any day, mainly because of those damn drums.
re: Adversarial - I get the complaints about the debut though I am over it. It always takes me one song to get used to it and then it sounds OK to me. But I don't think the demo sounded bad at all, nor any of the other stuff compiled on the Prophetic Plains... CD. Hopefully the next album will be more along those lines, drum-wise. And hopefully also a remastered version of the debut eventually appears; there have been mumblings about it. _________________

The snare is great. Really great crack. _________________ A TERRE RECORDS

No they don't.
Germaniac mentioned Impiety. Well yes, Impiety on Kaos Kommand and onwards has offered some of the most plastic and unnatural drum sounds ever. Most triggered drum sounds sound like shit to me even without hearing them first.
Funny as so many say Reflections of the Solstice. The original Turbo version has some of the best over the top style drum sounds that I like... Plus sloppy playing = winner. _________________

Yes they do, as some Impiety does for sure, agreed on reflections, own the turbo tape version and that's why I wrote it's weird/twisted or as you said over the top drumming makes it a classic. |

| Could never get past the drums on Ordo Ad Chao. The triggers hellhammer used are just cheesy, especially on the fills. |

| Nothing says typewriter like Shub Niggurath's Evilness and Darkness Prevails. If you close your eyes and just listen, you'll think you're in a newsroom or watching a nightly news broadcast from the old days..... |
