I don't know if Saturnus' Paradise Belongs To You is quite gothic doom, but as a melodic death/doom album, at least it's in the same ballpark. Great stuff.
Too bad I can't mention October Tide's Rain Without End, that's among the best ones I can think of.
Arcane Sun. One album wonder, not bad stuff. Gothic? Fifty fifty. I actually spotted the band after Stuart from Cradle Of Filth had mentioned it in some old interview.
Was Empyrium's A Wintersunset gothic doom? I don't know.
I have this album/EP from a band called Love History called Desires, from 1995. I can't quite remember how it was but man if that's not gothic doom then I don't know what is (disclaimer: might not be gothic doom).
I just noticed I could keep going forever so I think I'll just stop now. _________________ §:-Ğl |

Whatever they are, both albums are masterpieces. _________________ www.UnbornProductions.com

Saturnus used to be a great band before Kom Larsen left. Never checked out Empyrium, wasn't one of the members the owner of Prophecy? |

"Desires" was OK, but their full-length "Galileo, Figaro - Magnifico..." was a lot better (in spite of the dumb title).
Theatre of Tragedy's first album is good, too. |

Even Septic Flesh's - Esoptron is on the way of gothic/metal in that time |

That one has been circulating around here so I just grabbed it. Turns out I had heard it before, it just hadn't made a lasting impression. Perhaps this time. _________________ §:-Ğl |

I like Velvet Darkness and the first Tristania as well. Any other good bands playing that kind of style? |
