I think "The Grand Grimoire" is a fucking masterpiece . Christ Hunt is decent, but unremarkable and Bloody Blasphemy has it's moments but it went down hill after that. I haven't heard anything after Ravenous....
Any other fans of The Grand Grimoire ? One of my favorite albums to throw on when beer is flowing with old friends. Easy to scream along with every lyric . Really cool art inside the booklet as well. And, who can not like a band with a bassist named "Beef".

| I actually though Under the Sign of the Iron Cross was a great album. Way better than Passiondale... But I agree that nothing beats The Grand Grimoire. Those riffs are fantastic. |

Title track reminds me a lot of that time (´97/98 ). Pretty cool record. _________________ Die faggot. |

Grand Grimoire / Bloody Blasphemy are fantastic full-lengths.
Brutal as hell, yet melodic.
Ravenous is OK.
They should have disband after this one,... |

Yeah, it came out in 98' and is one of the few gems in an otherwise pretty abysmal time for metal. Cover art is really dated though, but the tunes more than stand their ground.
I think I'd have to give "Under a Silver Mood" my vote for best track.
".....In the dead of the night she slips away, tired of Josef - the miserable
fuck" .......
"Josef screams in anger when he discovers her being pregnant
How could it happen? I don't know how to fuck!
It's a gift from god, it must be. "
Anyone in the US with an LP copy of Grand Grimoire for sale , drop me a line !

2nd album is a killer and, yeah, reminds me of some good days back then.
BUT, contrary to the most of you guys I pretty like everything of em except for "the toxic touch".
take "soul sweeper" from into the lungs of hell
or
take "ach enemy spain" from lair o.t.white worm
which are just great thrashing death hymns!
one of the very few good bands with that en vogue plastic death metal sound, haha! |

Just checked out both of those songs you posted. Pretty damn good, guess I've got some catching up to do. I was never 'against' newer God Dethroned, I just kind of lost track of the them over the years. |

Bloody Blasphemy is a good record with a few letdowns. It does have a bad late '90ies feel to it which somehow prevents me from enjoying it as much as I did back in the day. Extremely boring to see them live btw. _________________ Thread derailed
