Time for a third installment. Is In The Nightside Eclipse the peerless classic some people claim it to be, or merely a primus inter pares? _________________ http://www.dissectionforum.dk/ |

Well the other thread was aimed at fans of the band. It would be interesting to see what people think of it in general. It represents a style of Black Metal that is pretty much dead now, which is peculiar considering the tremendous hype the band once was surrounded by. _________________ http://www.dissectionforum.dk/

| It has aged very well as far as im concerned. A true milestone of the early 90's Norwegian BM scene. I still love getting lost in that artwork. |

I don't really get why any album would sound "aged" to people nowadays, but anyway I still think it's a great record. _________________ Sic transit gloria mundi |

Well let us not turn a decent idea for a thread into another endless series of useless polls please. Some albums obviously are still very fresh, ItNE being one of them, really no need to discuss this. _________________ Permaban him

There's an often overlooked attention to detail on this album. It's not just about synths. However, the subject has been thoroughly examined so I'll just say I like it! _________________ §:-«l |

"Aged" is a funny term to use... most of us are still listening mainly to stuff from 20+ years ago and beyond.
One of the best aspects of extreme music is that it has nothing to do with trends or fashion of the time, so it's "timeless" in that respect. Especially when you consider that many of the classic BM releases were written to spite the stagnated DM "scene" of the day, it's kind of hard to imagine such classics like ITNE etc. ever going stale. To me it sounds just as relevant and powerful now as it did the first time I heard it. I guess it's about context, too, though. _________________

Timeless classic.
Pretty much like asking "has DMDS aged well? Has Led Zeppelin's III aged well?"
Absolutely love the 2 different guitar sounds _________________ DISJECTA MEMBRAE plays Vomitive Doom
