One of the best aspects of extreme music is that it has nothing to do with trends or fashion of the time, so it's "timeless" in that respect. Especially when you consider that many of the classic BM releases were written to spite the stagnated DM "scene" of the day, it's kind of hard to imagine such classics like ITNE etc. ever going stale. To me it sounds just as relevant and powerful now as it did the first time I heard it. I guess it's about context, too, though. |
Yeah maybe, one of the best examples of a dated album has to be Soul of A New Machine. That album was praised to no end for it's "fresh" sound and innovations. Now it sounds 90s as fuck, and not in a good way. |

Totally disagree. SOANM sounds way more metal in comparison to any other FF album or the bands who copied their sound. I definitely still enjoy it. _________________ Sic transit gloria mundi |

The top-notch tracks like the opening one: yes.
The boring ones (like "Beyond the Great Vast forest" or "Inno a Satana"): no.
Not to add that the MLP tracks on ITNE got weaker -even if still great- versions on the full-length. _________________

In the Nightside Eclipse is in the top 5 black metal albums of all time. It sounds amazing, and I'm sure it always will. |

Just listened to ITNSE a week ago or so, sounded just as good as ever. For the record, DFM was and continues to be my favorite Immortal album. |

Same here. It's also the best Bathory worship ever committed to tape. |

The drumming is the best part of the album, personally. _________________

It's a strong point anyway. I like those 90s fills in particular. Very analog and spatial. Don't hear them like that these days... _________________ §:-«l |

It represents a style of Black Metal that is pretty much dead now, which is peculiar considering the tremendous hype the band once was surrounded by. |
Well let us not turn a decent idea for a thread into another endless series of useless polls please. Some albums obviously are still very fresh, ItNE being one of them, really no need to discuss this. |
Yep, I'm getting sick and tired of these fucking threads as well. Fucking polls, top 5's and "has it aged well" threads can fuck off. It really just seems people are making threads for the hell of it instead of actually having anything to say _________________ Ignivomous merch: abaddon_963[at]hotmail.com
