Lately been listening to shit like Racer X's Street Lethal & Second, Marty Friedman's Dragon's Kiss, Tony McAlpine's Edge of Insanity, early Buckethead and Jennifer Batten etc. I need more. Recommendations? _________________ http://www.dissectionforum.dk/ |

I was listening this stuff a lot when I was young, still do, but not the new albums.
Personal favorites:
Apocrypha - The Forgotten Scroll
Jason Becker - Perpetual Burn
Marty Friedman - Dragon's Kiss
Cacophony - Speed Metal Symphony
Vinnie Moore - The Mind's Eye
Racer X - Extreme Volume LIVE
Tony MacAlpine - Edge of Insanity
Also good albums:
Joey Tafolla - Out of the Sun
Apocrypha - The Eyes of Time
Tony MacAlpine - Premonition
Cacophony - Go Off!!
And also some Greg Howe and Richie Kotzen stuff.
EDIT - And of course various Yngwie-albums from 80's to 90's |

| Not Exactly "metal" per say, but Steve Vai's Passion and Warfare is a must. |

Playing-wise yeah, however the song-writing on almost all Vai-albums is very non-traditional and often quite strange music-wise. I do remember when Sex & Religion was released and I went to see them on tour, he was amazing guitarist live. |

I think the first one is the best, second is ok and the third one was not that good. After that Tony Fredianelli did a solo-album called Breakneck Speed, strange stuff with some dj-stuff etc, partly it was great, but some parts were bad. After that he went to Third Eye Blind |

Probably not what you're looking for but the thread title immediately made me think of Coroner. _________________

There was a few of the old Techno Thrash guitar players who ventured into Shred/Fusion. Ron Jarzombek being of them. _________________ http://www.dissectionforum.dk/ |
