So here we are again, waiting for CdG DLP...
2 months after the CD. Well we're used to it.
Used to be a heavy downloader.
Now I RELIGIOUSLY wait for the vinyl release. Don't buy no CD. Don't download the album, 1 or 2 samples max. Tape sometimes. Analog or die.
The wait keeps the "magic" alive. Listening to "that" album for the very 1st time on vinyl... Nothing beats that...
Sometimes the wait is epic... I remember recently, Grave Miasma's MLP took a year to be released after the MCD... A whole fucking year
Same for Diocletian's Doom Cult... More than a year, jeez...
Still waiting for DISMA's 1st full length on DLP... It's been 2 years now... Doomentia come on...
CREMATORY's Denial is another nasty example...
Anyway, where do you stand on this o Metal Brother?
Do you enjoy the wait? That expectation?

I always buy whatever format comes first. Usually, the vinyl comes first anyway, especially if its a nwn release. But like I said, I buy what comes out first. I always buy both formats anyway. I used to download a lot, but I always end up buying whatever I download. Unless I don't really like it. But the music should speak for itself. Not the format.

Honestly, I have had it with vinyl. More expensive to buy, FAR more expensive to ship. Stupid limited editions that sell out in minutes (and mostly end up on ebay or discogs 10 minutes later). And on top of that, my cats seem able to cover vinyl with hair even before I've opened the shrinkwrap, which makes it impossible to play without pops. Fuck off vinyl, fuck off. Worthless. Worthless. Worthless. Fuck off.

It's a rite. The more you invest into something, the more value it has for you.
Completely different feeling, you take your time, you study the cover, you read the lyrics, you masturbate, you listen to what the band is actually offering as opposed to having constant noise run in the background. Noise you made two clicks to acquire.
I voted for the first option, because a) dont have a cd player b) why get the cd when you can get the vinyl? (well, in most cases)

There are enough albums floating around that are lossless, mp3s just take less space. |

Rip the vinyl (in the best quality) into mp3 file and then you have it.

I download the digital, and buy the LP, if I cant find the download, or its NWN prices, I buy the cd as well.
I dont play vinyl only, huge part of my listenig is digital, but I spin atleast 1 lp aday.

I think the funniest thing is that, for me I'm so rarely around my stereo due to work, bands, dog walking etc that I usually buy the vinyl and listen to an mp3 version on my hip android phone....
I buy vinyl or CD, whatever.... I've gone through phases where I've ONLY bought LPs and where I've ONLY bought CDs.... it all depends on my mood, maaaaan.
