We all know that the reverse is the way a lot of bands go. So, do you have prime examples of bands that with their first releases had their lips sucked hard to a donkey`s ass, just to come up with pure genious????

Secrets of the Moon: not quite shit, but the early stuff was quite 'yawn' worthy. 'Antithesis' on the other hand, is fucking grim.

Deathspell Omega: I'd rather listen to the most polished, tech Unique Leader type Death Metal than any of their pre-S.M.R.C. releases.

I think the exact opposite on these two bands. Earlier stuff > than their later releases

Yeah late Deathspell Omega(even though I have never been a big supporter) is pretty lame.

Taste is a strange beast indeed.

People should like / hate whatever the fuck they want and still be able to converse about music. This has the potential to be a good thread..

Although I love INQUISITION's early stuff, I think the new stuff crushes it. It's just so much more original and inspired.

I said EARLY demos ! Critical Mass is a later one ! There where some CD-R Demos before like a Split CD-R with HELLACAUST , or the Split 7" with OPRICHINKI can be included as crap as well. Those releases donīt sound like TH as all know them at all and have a horrible drum computer.

I would like to say Satyricon, but the first album has a (tiny) place in my heart.

Maybe someone remembers In-Quest from Belgium. Started completely unspectacular but now they are Death-Thrash machine.

Swordmaster - average debut MCD, but then changing more towards enjoyable BlackThrash style.

For sure INCRIMIANTED, they started from a kind of technical thrash with gay vocal.
