Coming Soon in Conspiracy with Iron Bonehead Productions:

Volahn “El Tigre del Sur” 12″ EP
ANTI-GOTH 449

In 1911, in the town of Cuautla, a showdown between two opposing forces in the wild west took place. Igniting the beginning of a war that forever honored the story of a brave general. Ending in a dramatic battle to the end, the tiger of the south defines the legacy of a fierce warrior and the loyalty to his fatherland.

Release date: October 19th 2019

-LISTEN-

Hijo del sol,
guerrero valiente,
contra los traicioneros,
extranjeros españoles.

El Tigre del Sur

Marcha de guerra a Cuautla,
contra el quinto de oro, ¡ataca!

Con rifle y espada,
asaltan la capital,
pistolas disparan,
soldados incendiados.

El Tigre del Sur

En nombre de la patria
¡Viva Zapata!

Ningún prisionero fue tomado
por ningún lado.

En nombre de la patria
¡Viva Zapata!

Valiente guerrillero,
bendito hijo del pueblo,
mi México te admira
y alaba tu valor.

También brindo mi canto
para tus generales,
aquellos hombres leales,
valientes como tú.

Para ellos una rosa,
a ti verdes laureles,
para seguirte fieles,
mi gran Jefe del Sur.

Descansa en paz
bajo el cielo que amaste,
donde vive tu frase de

¡Tierra y Libertad!

Allá por Chinameca,
donde te traicionaron,
tu sangre está brillando
como un rayo de sol.

Y tu nombre en la historia,
cubierto está de gloria,
con lágrimas de un pueblo
que te tributa honor.

Adiós celosa madre,
adiós Cuautla, Morelos,
la que guarda en sus senos
al hijo que la amó.

Adiós don Emiliano,
mi General Zapata,
en nombre de la Patria
recibe blanca flor.

Descansa en paz,
bajo el cielo que amaste,
donde vive tu frase de
¡Tierra y Libertad!

To be fair, it was organized by IBP.

I like what I'm hearing but I may have to be in a particular mood/setting to enjoy the second half of the song. Are there acoustic sections like that present throughout older material? I'll have a listen either way.

That logo is solid as fuck. The sample track is OK, but so far nothing beats "Dimensiones Del Trance Kosmico" to my ears.

I couldn't help but picture "Desperado" era Antonio Banderas playing that section. "Live from ICE Detention Center"

Early Volahn bores me to tears but I'm all about this new track and "Chamalcan". For once I can actually find some real feeling behind the riffs and I love the southwestern sounds/influence. Second half of this new one isn't really doing it for me though. I don't mind the idea but it's just pretty... boring.

I dug Aq'Ab'Al mostly. Although I haven't returned to it much since, woah, I gues 2014. Weird. Anyway, with that long of time I guess this doesn't seem like that much of a jump. But it definitely has gotten both simpler and weirder which is good I think. Like I said in the old dumb thread, I dig this song. I don't know if it's for the novelty of it or not. A mash up of distinct aesthetics is usually unconvincing and/or corny; certainly there's nothing novel about Tito & Tarantula bar rock or mostly straightforward black metal by themselves. I could see this going in some really fucking awful directions. But this mostly works I think. Agree that the second half isn't interesting in itself.

Aq'Ab'Al was pretty good, my only complain about it is that the sound didn't do enough justice to the compositions.

“contra los traicioneros,
extranjeros españoles.“

Ehm... spaniards weren't at Cuautla, it was a mexican civil war, Volahn failed his history classes.

Aside from that, it's a great song.

Pretty sure it's referring to the 1812 siege when the Mexicans fought the Spanish empire, not the battle of 1911.

I don't really mind the second half of the song. Could be shorter, but it's fine. Production sounds good, reminds me of the new BHL. Do they share members? It would be cool to see these two bands together.

I think most of the black twilight bands share the same 6/7 people or something, or atleast Volahn is in multiple of them. Volahn and BHL did an european tour last year + Arizmenda and some other band.

Then that verse doesn't make sense at all with the rest of the song.
