I'll just mash in everything punky:

Old hardcore (especially Boston or Washington DC hardcore bands), some old oi! bands (4 skins, cock sparrer, Skrewdriver), old fashioned crust (Amebix, Antisect, Driller Killer, Discharge, etc.), some dis-clones (old Disfear, Dischange/Meanwhile, Disclose), some good californian powerviolence like INFEST or Capitalist Casualties and the coal miners from Hellnation

Also really into eastern EUropean RAC bands, but they're more often than not very metallic.

Post-punk is also a favourite, but too many bands worth writing and I'm lazy now.

Nice taste for extreme hc and crust. Are there any rac bands that aren't into nyhc mosh vein or like american pop punk?

Well, yes, old 80's bands from England and France (Skrewdriver, Evil Skins, Legion 88, Skullhead, etc.) RAC bands from Eastern Europe have a very heavy metal sound, the best examples being Honor (Poland), Archivum (Hungary) or Kolovrat (Russia) My native language is Romanian (which basically has a Slavic phonology) and I speak Slovak and Russian and I really like how Eastern European languages (either Slavic ones or the other which have been heavily influenced by Slavic languages anyway) sound, coupled with hateful RAC lyrics you get some damn good powerlifting music.

BTW: your name rings me a bell and I'm relatively new to the forum. Do you happen to be Kukatz from Gruughaagy? I own several of your splits from 10 years ago, got them from a now-gone distro of a guy frim TImișoara (Romania) who played in several black metal bands.

Thanx, HerrTreblinka, I will check some of it, but honestly most of RAC sounds a bit too soft for me. In general, leftists play better raw punk, and right wingers play better black metal, heh. Yes, I am kukatz ex Gruuthaagy, been on some split CDr's with old Ordinul Negru, etc... Cheers!

This UK band are fucking great. Reminds me of shit like Rudimentary Peni, Subhumans, Crucifix, Discharge, etc. Good energy and fuck you attitude. Don't know if they're still going but this shit kills.

A bit late, but thanks!! Too much shitty crust copycats around and not enough bands that have a genuine 80's vibe like this Exclamation

That Inepsy is excellent, can't go wrong with Motorhead worship.

I picked up Capitalist casualties 1996-1999 cd toda. RIP their singer.

Been listening to Rattus, great Finnish punk.

Spent too much for a g.i.s.m. - detestation cd, that shipped yesterday, now that's a band that needs to be reissued.

Most of what people refer to as "raw punk" is boring and formulaic to me but the new Demons 7" by The Dark is pretty good.
