Before he got caught up with Twilight, Blake, anal play with tattoo guns, etc..Wrest made some really killer, dissonant, and downright malevolent recordings.

I will probably get some hate for this, but oh well...

I only have The Tenth Sublevel of Suicide. I like it, but I do think its a tad overrated. Someday I'll get around to getting more Leviathan. Lurker Of Chalice seems better to me.

Whatevs on the hate bro. I was listening to Verrator this weekend, dude/band rules. I'll admit TTTW did not grab me at all despite several attempts to 'get it', but Tentacles, Tenth Level, Verrator, A Silhouette In Splinters (!!!!!), Speed of Darkness, Howl Mockery and Massive Conspiracy slay. Silhouette might be one of my top dark ambient records ever, I wish the guy would make ambient music more....

I will freely admit watching that Vice documentary made me never ever ever ever ever want to listen to black metal ever again, but Wrest seemed like a fucking 100% legit dude and actually made it worthwhile.

A+ thread....

Great band. Like all his stuff. Some of the only black metal I go back to.

Great band. I'm not a big fan of Lurker of Chalice though.

Yeah, his part in the documentary was the best part of it all. His hatred and disgust is very believable. Personally, I would not fuck with the guy.

I love Speed Of Darkness! That is some of my favorite Leviathan material

My favorite black metal band. Love everything from the demos to TTTW, with Tentacles of Whorror being my favorite. That's a really dark fucking album. I really wish there would be some kind of demos collection at some point, I think that early material is some of the best "USBM" ever.

Lurker is fantastic. You couldn't ask for a better ambient black metal album.

Jef stated that he has over four albums worth of material for the project but it won't see the light of day. This is frustrating stuff...

Some of the darkest black metal ever created. Glad I'm not alone in this.

He seemed like a seething/recovering child actor. I did enjoy Lurker of Chalice though and wish he would release the vaulted albums, but never got into much Leviathan. Tenth Sublevel is decent.

Striborg/Sin Nanna was the star of that documentary in my opinion. That guy inspires me. Where's his appreciation thread?

10th Sublevel, whatever demo stuff was on the 1st Verrater disc, and the Sapthuran split are all great, and kind of define a particular era of early 00s BM for me. Beyond that, not really interested though I get the appeal.
