I've really been out of the loop from Gorgoroth since 2007.... When the fuck did Hoest start doing live vocals??

Really curious as to how that sounds

I can't believe Pentagram won. Other than the last track that album is a goddamn snoozefest. Antichrist on the other hand is 100% pure riff perfection. I guess the production is pretty thin and might be a turn off but damn...

Pentagram deserved to win. Yeah, there are some filler riffs in there, but also a lot of fucking awesome riffs.

First three no doubt, flawless. Destroyer is a beast of its own, like it a lot, but feels like a different band. Incipit Satan has some songs, rest is boring beyond belief. About Gaahl, never understood why Gaahlskagg never gets mentioned, Erotic funeral is great primitive metal.

I think for me it has to be Antichrist, mainly due to Gorgoroth and Sorg. Though I like the first 4 equally, Destroyer is quite underrated in my eyes.

Pentagram and Antichrist have some of my all time favorite black metal riffs.
Good shit.

I only know the first three.

1. Antichrist
2. Under the Sign of Hell
3. Pentagram

I still stand by these picks in the same order, but I can't stand the ridiculous vocals very much anymore.

"Gorgoroth" is the best song the band has ever done IMO. When that haunted bass melody kicks in...pure magic.

Well, maybe not so primitive, but its very effective when in need for basic 90ies bm.

Sure but all the good parts are basically stolen riffs from the better known Norsk bands. I can't listen to a single song on Pentagram without thinking "Burzum? Darkthrone? Mayhem? All 3?"
