Antichrist wins for me. Pentagram is great but Antichrist really hit a peak of songwriting and atmosphere.

I totally agree!! Antichrist is so underrated!! Most people love Gorgoroth's blazing stuff, and I do too, but I prefer the slower, more atmospheric tunes that they used to do!! The songs Gorgoroth & Sorg, are pinnacles of that early Norwegian sound, and they won't ever top it!!

Ad Majorem. Prosperity and Beauty, God Seed, and Sign Of An Open Eye are some of their best tracks.

Followed by Under The Sign for Revelation of Doom, Blood Stains The Circle and Rite of Infernal Invocation.

Then Pentagram for nostalgia, and Manneskyggens Slave.

Under the Sign of Hell, without a shred of doubt. A masterpiece and a classic!

Easily. At least 4/5 classics on that one + "The rite of infernal invocation" is obviously the best song they've ever written (and one of the best black metal songs ever recorded for that matter)

Antichrist for me, even if it is short and awkwardly structured. "Gorgoroth" is easily their best song, and the other songs are also very good. Pentagram is a close second. Under the Sign of Hell took me a while to get, but it really is very good. I don't really care about any of their other releases.

"Under the Sign of Hell" then "Twilight of the Idols" here. "Procreating Satan" is just sooo good.

Gave Under the Sign another spin yesterday after a while skipping the central tracks and can confirm it's flawless face-ripping black metal.
Hell, just the opening track is worth discographies of other bands.

Pentagram, on the other hand, is glacial 2nd wave perfection as well, has Ritual and Hat on vocals.

Pentagram will always be the best in my book.

Their first 3 albums are black metal perfection.
I even highly enjoyed "Quantos". Such a great "comeback" album.

Definitely a tossup between Pentagram and UTSOH for me. UTSOH, while being absolutely awesome in its own right has a huge nostalgia factor in being one of my first black metal albums... that first riff in Krig has never left my head since.

While I acknowledge its status as another classic, Antichrist never did click for me like the aforementioned two...
