after all the years of listening to this band, I still get the same evil feeling I did when I first came across Melissa..... The atmosphere and evilness is simply unmatched

not to mention the incredible songwriting and powerful vocals..

total love for this band

Don't Break The Oath is the best !!!
But I also love the first Mini-LP.
Would be great if Mercyful fate would decide to release the complete (!!!) demos on double-LP and / or double-CD...Return Of The Vampire is a great compilation, but there are still too much unreleased demo recordings available. I own the Curse Of The Pharaohs bootleg LP which has some more tunes on it. Also the complete Danger Zone stuff would be great, besides the full Brats rehearsal in stereo...

ITS is also a very good album. But TIME is my favorite of the "new" Mercyful Fate, followed by IN THE SADOWS and DEAD AGAIN.

All the MF albums are great, but you'd have to be high off your ass to vote for anything but one of the first 3.

"In The Shadows" is great but it's nowhere near the same league as the first two albums and s/t.

In the Shadows deserves more recognition! Of course it's not their best, but a damn entertaining album.

Everything is great, but nothing was as great as the debut EP. It's so raw and the songs are the best stuff they ever did.

This.

Does anyone have the 2007 reissue of DBTO by Cargo Records/Roadrunner and can say something about the sound and overall quality of this release?
It's still available new for 15, so I'm thinking about getting this one instead of spending probably more on a first press in very good condition.
Only have that masterpiece on CD so far. Embarassed

Saw it here: http://www.s-c-r.de/shop.php?&search=mercyful%20fate&viewitem=em00005793
Quick google search led to several other German shops stocking it, plus amazon, plus apparently a lot on ebay.
That's why I wondered if it's any good, when it's still widely available after 6 years.
