hateful vocal sound is what I meant

There's a ton of bands doing the hateful vocal sound. Al Jourgensen was doing his hateful vocals style back in the 80s, not just the lyrics, I'm talking about that sound style he uses.

Were there any other bands at that time doing the same type of vocal sound or would he be considered the main influence for all those bands that came later on?

Have no idea what you're talking about.
I can only think of those preachers on tv doing hate vocal sermons, where they be hatin' on Satan 'n' shit, way before Al Jourgensen.

...you mean way back in 1988? No, nothing before that. Al Jourgensen and his Eventide Harmonizer started it all.

What a shitty trolling attempt. You could have at least used a band that hipsters bust nuts over like Swans or something.

If this isn't a troll, I don't even understand the question.
Was he the first guy to distort his voice? No, that goes back to the 70's.
Was he the first guy to have gnarly, yelled vocals? Come on now.

Whitehouse I agree. In the 80's while working in an indie record shop, I got a local DJ fired from a college station after selling him one of their records and playing them on the air, he would come in and thank me the next day. At that time Ministry still sounded like Depeche Mode...

now someone (me) mentions the cromagnon LP released in 1969. though it's only the one song, nothing else on the record sounds remotely like it.

also ive listened to the first ministry album more than anything else this past month. sounds like a slightly more aggressive pet shop boys. sweet stuff.

Seriously can you please just elaborate on what you were asking about?

If you think Ministry is "mall rock" (??) you should probably do some soul searching.
