I have no clue about the album but let's be honest, metal archive reviews don't represent metal listeners on the whole, it represents mostly males with an average age of about 20 who want to nerdishly write about their mp3+cd collection while struggling with critical thought and essay writing skills.
Short version - metal archive reviews belong on a middle school teachers desk not in the public eye. |

It is cold, it is clinical, it is like a mechanical frenzy of heartless merciless fury.
It is indeed the last album before they... commercialized themselves a little with the full on black and roll approach.
I wish they would go back to this albums manner again. |

Quite a coincidence, I started listening to this album again recently for the first time in maybe 10+ years. Still a good album, but a bit too much effect on the vocals. Probably better off, Satyr isnt really the best vocalist out there.
Far from as good as their best record; Nemesis Divina. _________________

I totally love Rebel, but on the other hand I really dig that style in general. Cadaver Inc were the best out of all these bands, even better than Thorns IMHO. Rebel is still a great album of course, their last really great offering, even though I do like Volcano quite a lot. _________________ Sic transit gloria mundi |

The "mechanical moonfog" production on this one always put me off. I remember liking "Filthgrinder" alright but I never bought the album or listened to it all the way through. This thread will surely send me to youtube to revisit. _________________

That mechanical element is what made this album wicked I think.
This album is the side by side perfect companion to the Thorns s/t album. |

yep, 100% in agreement with this. Rebel Extravaganza is kind of the baby Thorns s/t. Nowhere near as good, but still decent enough. Anyhow, never gave a shit about this band other than this record. _________________ Wants/Trades: http://www.nwnprod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=275935#275935
