I understand that Sigh can be a bit difficult for some folks to handle, given their frequent inclusion of quirky Jazz and psychedelia, but I believe thier lyrics are worth paying attention to. Particularly on Hail Horror Hail there is reference to some things that are uniquely Japanese, such as Buddhist notions of Hell and so forth.
Other folks have mentioned Coffins, Corrupted, and Churc Of Misery, and those bands all kill.
Surprised that no one has yet drawn attention to Anatomia. Their latest, Decating In Obscurity, was my favorite album of 2012. |

Sabbat, Metalucifer. S.O.B....but to me they are all phonetic and work on my sense of humor.
Always when i listen to a japanese band, i get this feeling,....laughing my ass off, never taking it serious... |
That's OK -- the members of these bands have been laughing their asses off at dumb motherfuckers like you since 1983! _________________

| Transgressor were pretty good if I remember right. It's been a while since I listen to them though, but I don't remember them being "funny" at all. |

| Sigh is the BEST band from Japan hands down, they have created some great music and are not afraid to take some major chances with every release starting with Hail Horror Hail. Imaginary Sonicscape and the new one are sooooo fucking good. |

| I love japanese punk and metal bands, the thing about japan though is that it seems to be their fans are such big fans of music from the west they are able create a carbon copy of their influences. |

This is great stuff. I really dig everything they've done. Their last album is my favorite, more rock n roll-ish you might say, but their earlier recordings are very good too. _________________ Sic transit gloria mundi |

Anatomia and Corrupted are awesome.
Also this thread has given me some hardcore and noise shit to check out so it's not a complete waste. _________________

I think the idea behind that is that so much tragedy happens in Spanish speaking countries, it's heavy to have your lyrics in Spanish. Perhaps lyrics were culled from Mexican and South American magazines which feature lurid crime scenes in graphic detail. |
