I wouldnt say that is better, WAY different then Rommel, wouldn't comare the two as they play different styles of metal. |

| You're splitting hairs, sure this song is instrumental and it's a bit more technical than Rommel but Hisashi plays guitars and sings in both bands as far as I know so... |

Considering you listen to a genre where we have everything from bands singing about beer, to satan, vikings, wizards, fantasy magic, gore/horror movies and being considered brilliant?
Thread sucks.
As said already, Japanese bands are often very dedicated, regardless of the types of music that they play. They seek out entertainment any way they can and will often be very passionate about the things that interest them which music falls under as well. |

Sabbat, Metalucifer. S.O.B....but to me they are all phonetic and work on my sense of humor.
Always when i listen to a japanese band, i get this feeling,....laughing my ass off, never taking it serious...
Being a country with no humour, and producing the most funny bands in the world.....its an achievement isnt it??
Does anyone here take a japanese band for serious,....? For the clones they are? |
No problem, this is not necessarily a geographical thing but, I had to actually fold the CD booklet of Eld and Blodhemn so the lyrics would face the top because of those glamor-comic-con shots. I just can't take shit like that seriously. |

Where did you get the idea that Japan is a country with no humor? _________________ subcide-webzine.blogspot.com/ |

| Greenmachine were a pretty good group of Cavity sound-a-likes: worth a listen for any sludge fans. |

| Flower Travelin Band, Sacrifice, Crow, and Genocide are the only Japanese bands I like. That being said, every country has good and bad bands. Nothing to do with Japan specifically. |

| a lot of it comes off as bizarre but its not dumb joke music. To me Japanese bands are some of the most out there, extreme and innovative. |

I don't mind some Doom. I remember liking Terror Fector, and their black metal-esque offshoot Crifotoure Satanarda. |

Did you have a chance to catch them live on either US tour? Fukking CRUSHING. I saw them twice in 2008: at Slim's they played "El Mundo Frio", then at Gilman they played the then-unreleased (and unrecorded at the time)"Garten der Unbewusstheit" album in its entirety, nearly two hours in the live setting. Absolutely amazing. _________________

Definitely not NS enough to be taken seriously though.
I kind of lol when people talk about taking bands seriously though.. I mean the point of a band is to be entertaining in a way impractical to "normal" people and normal lives. Bands are to be taken as seriously as Pro Wrestling or Hollywood Movies. That being said, a lot of people would step over their grandmothers for pro wrestling and hollywood movies, so....
Now music on the other-hand is always serious until someone adds a definition or a meaning to it and it becomes weighed against other categorized music. _________________
