This.
The first 3 are among the best albums of all time, especially Into Glory Ride. After that...not so much.
I do like Sign of the Hammer a lot, and a few songs on side 2 of Fighting the World are killer. I thought The Triumph of Steel was mildly interesting at first, but I grew tired of it pretty quickly. Since then, I think they've released piles and piles of crap, IMHO. |
Absolutely agree, and the assholes that claim, "You're not real metal if you don't like Manowar" can go fuck themselves with rotating spikes. Other than KISS or Dream Theater I've never seen such an apologetic collective of minions in my life. _________________ ----------------

Stop sending money send em all a bomb.''
Lyrics from ''Warlord''.Some wimps and ignorant about what metal stands for said that song doesn't fit with the rest epic songs...
How many black metal bands would wish to write so misanthropic lyrics one day????
DeMaio had refused to join Hear N' Aid (with Dio etc) because he didn't want to contribute to niggers of Africa (DeMaio statement).
Black metal is not the only hateful music in this world......

There's no avoiding the coveted race card. Have you ever heard Carnivore or S.O.D.? Manowar was tame compared to them. _________________ ----------------

| I really like this album, though could do without the vaccum cleaner bass and the drum machine. Otherwise, thumbs up. As for Ross the Boss and Ian Stuart, check out Ross' surname - doubt that's him on those albums though I did think that the first time I saw it. Whilst on Ian Stuart's special guest list, ask the Krewmen and Demented Are Go what albums they turned up on, haha. |

Amazing album, ridiculous price for the double picture lp version:
http://www.nuclearblast.de/en/products/tontraeger/vinyl/2pic-lp/manowar-the-lord-of-steel.html
It's Manowar and I know I'll buy it but how can anyone charge €44 before shipping for a brandnew record is beyond me. _________________ Thread derailed

This "Manowar is gay" discussion reminds me a bit of the accusations of homo-eroticism with the movie "300": In the end, it's just male narcissism and heterosexual hedonism. But of course, people always want to analyze something which they assume to exist behind the surface, instead of going with the most obvious answer.
BTW I am not a fan of Manowar at all, but their early albums have some real epic moments. I also remember that album from ca. 1996 was terrible Biker Rock. |

Yeah I have to admit Louder Than Hell is their least good album, there's a couple of awful songs on that one. Its main quality is that it was one of the few proper metal albums from that period, at least they kept playing their own thing instead of jumping on the chugga chugga Pantera bandwagon like Priest, Sepultura etc _________________ Thread derailed

Well, "Warlord" clearly sticks out on that album both lyrically and musically...it's completely different than all the other songs. But, "Warlord" kicks so much ass that it doesn't matter. Even though it's very different, it's a perfect way to kickstart the album.
Into Glory Ride is probably in my top 5 all-time albums. _________________ Evil Is As Evil Does... |

How about the great song El Gringo from the movie "El Gringo", when I heard that song I though it was some sort of spoof joke.......no just new manowar. I love everything up to triumph og steel though.....and even a few songs from Louder than Hell. _________________ "It was the best of time it was the blurst of times." |

And it´s really just two plain picture lps, no cover, lyrics sheet or anything afaik. Shame.
Bring on a proper black vinyl version! _________________ Reliable people: nexxxion, s.charlach |
