^^I just can't figure out how grown men "of taste" go for crap that sounds like child's music. I made the bronski beat joke because I like some terrible shit that I am willing to admit, but Ghost... this is REALLY REALLY bad. the music is stale/tame (how they call it doom I dont know) and the vocals are simply cringe inducing and everything that sucks about (pop)music/sweden all rolled into one gross package. and people EAT IT UP... I realize I am trolling, but maybe it will plant seeds. hahaha. shame on OP for starting this thread, and shame on Sweden for consistently dishing out this horrible music

When I first heard the debut i thought it was pretty decent. Then everyone went apeshit for them and i started losing interest. Now recently i heard the regurgitated Porcupine tree/clown circus type sounds coming from their newest track "secular haze", and yeah... fuck this band lol.
Rather listen to Pagan Altar or Devil. |

Massive fuck-offs to this band.
What seemed to be mildly entertaining King Diamond-lite is tedious eye-rolling boredom with everything they do. Upon reflection there is very little musical worth of this band, it's a self-preserving marketing gimmick whose horde of fans defend a band that magazines gave them on a plate. They are the musical equivalent of teaching people to stand up for the government they didn't vote for.

Though, as someone who enjoyed the first album, these latest tracks (Secular Haze and this cover), have been pretty fucking bad.

Like both covers more than any of the original material. Never listened to The Beatles or ABBA. I’m sure that when the demo was first posted here lots of people went crazy about it. This band is a great example of how the need to kult changes people’s appreciation of music. The whole idea of the band from the beginning was to make easily accessible music that reaches a wide audience. Very pop-influenced already from the start. It’s not something that I would listen to a lot, but the forum views on this are a lot more embarrassing for the “underground” than it is for the band. I don’t like pop in general, but I’ve listened to the Subvision record many times, very good for that kind of music. I’m happy the vocals have become more like on that record compared to the Ghost debut.
Edit: I laugh as much as the next guy about those quoted youtube comments. Maybe the band is completely off-topic here, still not as horrible as you fags who obviously listens to everything they release would make it seem like. |
