I would say there is much to behold just below the surface with Poland... either way, this was more a quality over quantity vote for me. old TTF and Behemoth are pretty great, and Evilfeast always springs to mind as a currently active favorite for me. tons of classic NS stuff too coming from this region...
Cultes des Ghoules is another current and extremely relevant to this board Polish act of course. not widely discussed, but I feel the later portion of Leichengott's output would tickle some fancies around here as well. I recall being really into the Ostrza tape when it came out
from an overseas perspective, I like how many of the acts from this country don't seem to be massive rock stars or internet whores either (obviously Behemoth now being the exception)

For me, picking a favorite country of death metal would be much harder. Black metal's a no-brainer. Norway is the only answer. By far the most influential. Just think about how many Darkthrone, Burzum, Emperor and Immortal clones are out there.
For death metal, I'd probably have to go with the USA. |

Sweden is the best for Black Metal. I just love the war themed and fast bands like Marduk, Triumphator, Funeral Mist, War, and Niden Div. 187.

By the way, Ostots and Sentimen Beltza are Basque bands, not Spanish. Calling them Spanish is kind of rude. |

And yeah, I'm aware about the self gobernment and all that, but as they're still part of Spain, at least in paper...
My apologies if that offended the bands, I'll try to keep that in mind.
BTW I've never been a huge Teitanblood fan.
