That's because most bands suck from there, a flood of generic copycats of Marduk and Dissection since the mid 90ies.

here i have to agree. Setherial was tragicomic in their attempts to copy dark funeral/marduk. also, marduk is the incarnation of the expression "fake band", despite they released good stuff.

perhaps you get me wrong. i'm not flaming with you, i just think that the norwegian black metal was so much overrated in the 90's, for all the obvious reasons. so, demystification: the real good bands are maybe 50-70% less than what commonly said.
feel free to insult patriotic feelings, i'm not oversensitive, but i do not understand why you felt insulted. dimmu borgir is crap: facts.

Well, there are some truely brillant bands heere, but when you know its scene a bit, you clearly can see there are some of the most pathetic bands ever in France. |
