Yes, another shitty poll. Cry about it.
Personally, I don't like anything past Infernal. Hailstorm being my favorite of the first three.
Vote and discuss. _________________

I love the first four: Hailstorm for the hideous obscurity, Eerie for the ugly yet insanely memorable songs, Infernal for the epic feeling and Legions... for the pummeling steamroller assault.
My favourite changes regularly, but I think it's Eerie right now. Never heard anything after Legions. |

Voted for Infernal but Devilry is their ultimate recording. Its amazing how they managed to go from that to Legions of Perkele in just short time. Those songs on Devilry promo are also best songs from Legions of Perkele, but still one can not even compare them.
Been asking this before and ask it again, why wont anyone press that Devilry on vinyl? (free hint, personally prefer one sided 12" more than 10") I know that Sova isnt most stable man to co-operate with but still would believe that he nees money for his "hobbies".
And what about that Infernal vinyl? KBTMT was about to release it but somehow Sova changed his mind and then there were rumours that someone else does it. But now, couple years later, nothing!
Even if they were good on their three first record, they still were a live band. Seeing them live many times in 1995-1998 there was no doubt that they were rulers of finnish black metal at that time. Sova destroyed more bass strings than alcohol on stage. _________________ Mors fennico more

Demos through Infernal are essential. If I have to choose, I guess Eerie. The vox on Hailstorm are actually painful to listen to with headphones. _________________

Issue with Infernal is complicated and messy. There are many participants who say they have the rights for the album, but in reality none of them have. Sova is the only one who have the rights. I spoke about this with Dennis (Kneel Before...) when he was in Finland in 2011. Pretty sure that the album will never see a proper vinyl release. Last talks about it was like what... at least 2 years ago? Since then nothing. Sova's alcoholistic manners make him extremely hard to work with. _________________

| I only own (and heard) Legions of Perkele, which I like a lot. Guess I should check out some of the other stuff. |

I think I had a really bad backwards start with Barathrum. I bought Saatana in 1999 and it was more or less a piece of shit. Then I heard Warmetal on a finnish compilation album the next year, ran far fast and never looked back. I guess I just gave up at that point and I never felt any desire to check out the old albums.
To add insult to injury, I know the band wrote music so that they could go out and play it live. That kind of reminds me of a punk rock band just looking to get drunk and make a mess... maybe this is reflected in the music they released, maybe it isn't. Guess I'll never know for sure... _________________ §:-Ğl |
