Anyone gonna catch this show as well? Ghoul was recently added to the line up I believe.

Should be great, what better way to spend Halloween?

Saw Danzig last week, I wasn't expecting much honestly (but felt I had to see him at least once in my life), but it was a surprisingly good show. Other than some laughable nu-metal sounding song he opened with and one other new-ish song the entire set was from the first 3 albums and Doyle came out for a short Misfits set. Well worth it.

Killer. Yeah I think he's been opening with Skincarver which I agree is not one of his better works to say the least ha.

I think "Skincarver" is a great opening song...Danzig's been using it for many years now. Not sure about describing it as nu-metal...I think of crap like Korn when I hear that term, and this song doesn't sound like Korn at all to me.

I caught the NYC show and it was incredible, as always. Killer setlist.

I suppose modern sounding would be a better description than nu-metal, but my friend did point out that he was almost rapping during it. I'm not really familiar with any Danzig material after 4 so that song could be one of the better ones since then for all I know. Agreed the setlist was very good, totally shocked that "Bullet" was played.

You should check out his last album, "Deth Red Sabaoth". It's the best release since "How the Gods Kill". No nu-metal (I know exactly what you mean with "Skin Carver") or techno stuff, just classic sounding Danzig.

I don't know...maybe it's just me because I'm a total Danzig fanboy. LOL I don't hear anything even close to resembling rap in that song. It's certainly more modern-sounding than the old Danzig stuff, but that doesn't bother me - each of his albums sound very different to me.

And yes, Deth Red Saboth is highly recommended. The song they play live is "Hammer of the Gods".
