Now, I know I may be on thin ice here but this is METAL RELATED!
I'm wondering what you would consider the worst attempt of Black Metal musicians at creating "ambient" music.
I am only thinking of "official" releases here like demos, eps and albums. Not YouTube-only releases.
So does Lamentation make you hurl? Do you vomit God's child when you hear Burzum's "ambient" albums? Do you get spastic fits when somebody puts on Neptune Towers? Tell us about it! And please, post samples. _________________ There is a country called Tír na N Óg, which means the Country of the Young, for age and death have not found it; neither tears and loud laughter have gone near it. Siergiy did a lot of shit, but Rotten threads of life was a good release. If he were not so laaaazy, he could have made other good stuff like this demo.
I second Darkness enshroud. Abaddon failed this time... |

Who buys all the Moloch shit? is it just stuck in distros or in his garage?
Don't understand the need to created hundreds of ambient releases.
That and Uruk-Hai... Shit is a joke. |

Disagree. That's part of it, but as our friend Brian Eno says, it's meant to be listened to as intently as 'regular music. Limiting it to specifically background music does a disservice to the entire genre. _________________ http://www.last.fm/user/ngadke |

WONGRAVEN sucked for sure, so did NEPTUNE TOWERS.
Proscriptor's solo album is also extremely annoying, I think Equitant had something similar shitty going on. Not sure anymore.
But the really WORST attempt at "Ambient" I ever heard was this pile of shit:
If we can count the "Black Aria" solo-crap from Glenn Danzig as well, this would also rank extremely bad. |

A few weeks ago I was sent a demo out of the blue by someone from California. No name on the return address or anything and I haven't been able to find anything about the band on the internet. It was the Perdition demo, Battle. Hands down the worst attempt at music / noise / ambient I've ever heard. Literally sounds like someone laid down a bunch of keyboards in a room and let their cat walk all over them. There's also a hilarious "fuck off" to Ashdautas in the liner notes. _________________ A TERRE RECORDS

| There was one guy (from Canada I think) who would mix Burzum's ambient music with Mortiis' music and release it as "his own" recordings. You could clearly hear the Burzum and Mortiis if you knew both band's music. I used to have the "demo" but sold it on eBay long time ago. |

| Easily Wongraven, when it comes to bigger projects. But anything created through Fruity Loops and that sort of shit inherently sucks. |

Even that. It's the least favorite but better than Neptune Towers for me. |
