Been delving into a lot of Japanese hardcore lately. What I've been jamming recently:
Lip Cream
The Comes
Chicken Bowels
Deef (the most insane Japanese hardcore I've heard yet, dirty and simplistic)
Confuse
Gauze
Final Count (sounds like a cross between G.I.S.M. and United Mutation)
Zouo
Mobs
The Execute
Systematic Death |

I agree with the guy who said hardcore > crust (and all other forms of punk). I don't dislike crust but a lot of it is very samey sounding. I feel the same way about powerviolence and grindcore but I still like bands from both genres. Pure hardcore (regardless of area) seems to have a lot more spirit and conviction, at least to these ears.
Anyways, I've been jamming the Innocents and The Comes a lot lately. Japan is quickly becoming my favorite area for hardcore. |

| This thread is great. The only ones that haven't been mentioned that I can think of are Gouka and Crocodile Skink! |

Well, there's a 2xCD that has all the pre-1990 material on it and that one is good, there's "Kick Rock" on it, the second LP and all the single/flexi stuff too.
I think the other CD is a compilation with random songs from all the pre-1990 period on it? I haven't heard it so I can't say, but I'd probably avoid that one. |
