Yup. $12.75 for 1 7". |
thanks for the info! not to get CRAZY detailed, but was this like a U line 7" mailer with a couple insert stiffeners, or just straight mailer and EP? of course it sounds funny, but I use stiffeners always, and this could certainly tip the scales just a hair if the figure quoted is without. trying to figure out a exact quote for someone now _________________ trade-want list/available list- http://www.nwnprod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20339 |

Mailed a CD this morning at the post office it was $7.35 to Canada without the jewel case, but packed in between cardboard. Went to the UPS store and asked about the price and they said it would only cost about $2.95 by air mail. _________________ Well black metal doesn't really go in that group... at all.... This is crazy, I didn't know you could ship anything via UPS for those rates! So USPS is now more expensive than UPS? _________________ ***************************

Not really. Flat rates went up but priority not that much. _________________

Oh, and just in case I haven't said this yet, an employee told me that the tracking functionality for Priority Mail does not include flat-rates envelopes. I thought as much seeing as how the prefix was still "LC" instead of "CS" or whatever it is for international Priority Mail. So if you're trying to track the parcel, that does not work. I think the Medium size box is like $50 now... _________________ You can dispose of your guitar, Show No Mercy has been already been written. |

Yep, at least when mailing small packages, when it comes to mailing stuff to Canada or internationally I will just go to the UPS store.

Hmmmm. Not sure about all this UPS stuff. I just did a price quote online and for a 2lb box to Japan was $92 by their 'saver' method! You can get international quotes on www.ups.com
So unless the UPS stores have some other methods they're quoting this might have been a mixup? _________________ ***************************

Regardless, there's no way it would be $2.95 for a 5 oz CD, but $92 for an LP. They don't even allow you to put in "ounces" on their quote page, so that's why I had to enter two pounds, because I had to round up. I am betting that there is no way you could ever ship anything anywhere by UPS for $2.95, but I'd be happy to be proven wrong, please.
I would bet that they were quoting a USPS rate for that package, but using the old rates. I didn't know you could ship USPS services at a UPS store, but evidently you can.

Hahaha, Fed Ex wanted $115.00 to ship one Vinyl in a vinyl mailer at 1lb 8oz to Australia. I guess we still have no other alternative. _________________ www.dreadrecords.net |
