I'm at the post office almost everyday. I told one lady that works there that I pay $0.08 (that's 8 cents) a minute for long distance (Europe) phone calls. To buy a post card it costs an average $3.99 + tax and $1.85 for the stamp. Do you think I'm going to send a card to my grandmother for her birthday or call her to wish her a happy b-day myself?
It's funny how the government likes to blame the internet for the high prices. Supposedly they're losing lots of money because no one sends letters anymore. Remember when they were trying to pass a bill that would allow them to charge $0.05 per email sent? I'm glad that never happened.
And I agree that people write emails and no one writes letters anymore. However, how much business have they gained because of the internet? I know I order lots more online than I did 10 years ago. They can't tell me it doesn't even up at the end.
Like you said scentofdeath, they really don't have excuses. _________________

Bottom line is: that sucks. |
Yup. I just spent my week packing up all pending international orders & trades & shipping them out, otherwise I would have ended up spending hundreds more on shipping. |
Which online shipping site do you use? I've only used the one through Paypal for printing shipping online, but from what I can tell for international they only offer Express or Priority options? Didn't somebody say on here that First Class Package postage was now going to become available online too? _________________ ***************************

Right, because demanding a proper packing job is neurotic. |

Used to be who had the cheapest products was one of the biggest factors in buying music, now it will be who has the cheapest shipping. _________________ DOOMLORD wrote: ...22 min track and it just fucking crawls like a dying sloth through vomit = PURE EVIL ! |

i used endicia.com for a few years.. i was very happy with it.
i think the basic plan i paid was $98 a year
if your shipping a few times a week its worth looking into
most of the online shipping services will give you some small discount..
usually 5% or less
the only major con was that its a pain to get a refund if you fuck up the postage in some way |

Due to these insane rates, our store is down for the moment until we find time to adjust pricing.
Anyone who thinks we are charging "too much" for postage beyond this point can fuck off. _________________ C E R E M O N I A L O A T H:

I use Endicia. It has a monthly service fee, but since shipping prices are cheaper online than at the post office it evens out if you ship enough internationally. _________________
